November 2021 San Diego Calendar of Events

There’s no shortage of fun activities during the holiday season. We would love to share some great events coming up in November 2021. Wishing you a Happy and Safe Thanksgiving.  To learn more about the events click on the imagery right next to the event description and it will take you to the events web site.  

1. Heart to Hands Food Drive 

Now in its 9th year, the annual food drive has raised over 16,000 pounds of food for local San Diegan's in need. Local businesses, schools and community establishments open their doors to the public and serve as drop off locations.  The food drive also hosts Sunday events in local parks where the public can drop off donations. The Heart to Hands collects human and pet food and the donations are distributed locally throughout San Diego. The beneficiaries of the food drive are the San Diego Food Bank, Triton Food Pantry, San Diego Humane Society and Feeding San Diego. This years food drive begins Thursday, November 4 - December 13, 2021.  

2.  San Diego Beer Week 

Events are held throughout San Diego County at participating breweries, bars, restaurants, and more! The San Diego Brewers Guild is proud to be a source for breweries, tradespeople, restaurants, and craft beer aficionados. 

3. Bike the Coast 

Join riders of all levels and ages while experiencing the best of Southern California beaches and surf towns as you ride routes of 100, 50, 25 on historic Highway 101, or enjoy our family ride on the San Luis River Trail (15 or 7 miles). Everything starts and finishes on the beach at the venue of the Oceanside Pier with food, craft beer, live music, expo shopping and fun.

4. Trout Opening Weekend 

2,000 pounds of Rainbow Trout with large fish up to 12 pounds will be stocked for this upcoming event! Greg Even, coordinator for this event, said “This event is great for everyone, including families that want to spend some quality time together. It’s also perfect for sport fishermen because there will be some trophy fish included in the stock”.

5. Carlsbad Fall Village Faire 

Over 750 unique vendors with a little of everything: arts & crafts, antiques, unique clothing, items from around the world, and more. Children’s rides, an international food center, and an old-fashioned pancake breakfast guarantee that you’ll find fun for the whole family! Grand Ave. between Carlsbad Blvd. & Jefferson

6. Coronado Island Film Festival 

The festival is planning for a return to our traditional festival format with in person screenings, special engagements, panels, culinary cinema series, and of course red carpet moments! Additionally, the festival plans to curate a select number of films that will screen online as part of our virtual fest.

7. Veterans Day Parade

See over 4,000 Veterans, Active Military, Bands, Floats and Civic Groups celebrate Veterans Day with the San Diego Veteran's Day Parade. We invite all of the San Diego regions to participate in this tradition and welcome all sponsors, donations, and volunteers. The San Diego Veterans Day Parade is produced by "Veterans Week San Diego", an all-volunteer team of Veterans and citizens of all ages and walks of life, dedicated to honoring Veterans annually during "Veterans Week", as a program event of the Veterans Memorial Center. We rely on donations from the generous residents of the San Diego area, as well as financial support from the regional industry and business sector, and the support of our partners in the non-profit sector.

8.San Diego Bay Wine & Food Festival

Featuring dozens of events, hundreds of domestic and international wineries, the celebration of craft beer and spirits, local culinary legends and nationally recognized celebrities, and a Grand Tasting Finale. Embarcadero Marina Park North. 

9.Poway Valley Garden Club Annual Flower Show & Plant Sale 

Come and see a wide variety of dazzling plants and flowers, or express your own creativity by submitting your own entry. All ages are welcome to come and enjoy a fabulous day of gardening ideas, plant sales and more. 9am-3pm / Old Poway Park - Templars Hall

10.Silver Stand Half Marathon, 10 Miler & Veterans Day 5k 

Flat, Fast Run or Walk with the waves of the Pacific Ocean on your right and the San Diego Bay on your left and capping off your run with a California Beach Party! Finish line food, live band and Ballast Point Beer Garden. 8am / Sunset Park, Coronado

11.Light the Night Walk

In person event on Nov 6 2021 and virtual event on Nov 10 2021. 2-mile walk and celebration to help the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society raise money and awareness for these cancers.

12. Encinitas Holiday Street Fair

450+ booths, plus dozens of unique downtown retailers. Enjoy the music of popular local bands in The Lumberyard Courtyard and dance, music and other entertainment on the Community Stage next to Ace Hardware. Take your young ones to the Kids Zone for a variety of fun activities, and walk your furry friends into Dog Zone for some treats and special attention.

13. Mother Goose Parade

The Mother Goose Parade is San Diego's East County's annual holiday kick-off celebration featuring spectacular motorized floats, glorious marching bands and drill units, eloquent equestrians, animated clowns, special characters, special guests, performing artists, celebrities, giant helium balloons, specialty vehicles, and of course, Santa Claus.

14. Fallbrook Thansgiving Day Turkey Trot 

A fun family Thanksgiving morning to come together with the community to raise money for the Fallbrook Village Rotary Club Foundation while feeling good and creating memories of a lifetime. Our goal is to raise funds for the Fallbrook Land Conservancy, Fallbrook Animal Sanctuary and the Fallbrook Community(s).


15. O'side Turkey Trot

Event offers a costume contest, largest teams competition, fabulous live entertainment on the course and finisher medals for all participants. Free digital photos, medals, shirts, and timing to all registered participants. The event has raised over $380,000 for non-profits that serve O’side residents.

16. Father Joe's Villages Thanksgiving Day 5k

Help provide life-changing meals to feed hungry neighbors in need through Father Joe's Villages' Food Services Program. Your event registration includes race admission, a Thanksgiving Day 5K shirt, and a bib number.

17. San Diego Jazz Fest and Swing Extravaganza

One of the longest running annual music festivals dedicated to celebrating jazz music of the early 20th Century. Features a variety of musical artists performing traditional jazz, swing, blues, ragtime, boogie woogie, gospel, and rhythm and blues. When it’s time for a bite or a drink, the options are abundant, from the unique food vendors in the street fair to the 40+ restaurants and bars in our downtown.

18. Julian Country Christmas Tree Lighting

Christmas comes to Julian every year in an old-fashioned way that will make you picture sleigh rides, chestnuts roasting on open fires, and Jack Frost painting the whole town white. The holiday season in Julian also offers an opportunity to shop at small boutiques, without crowds or lines, for one of- a-kind gifts. 

19. Cardiff Small Business Saturday

Visit downtown Cardiff where you’ll find sidewalk sales, local specials, and pop-up shops. A limited-edition print will be gifted to shoppers who make a purchase at certain businesses on Small Business Saturday!

20. Comic-Con International Special Edition Event

Comic Con is planning a special in person event for November 26 - 28 2021. Normally held at the San Diego Convention Center, 111 West Harbor Drive, San Diego CA 92101. If you are looking for fun things to do in San Diego, don't miss Comic Con special! Tickets are expected to sell out early. But join in the fun anyway in the area if you don't get a ticket. Most downtown San Diego hotels during this time will be booked by Comic-Con attendees, so you may need to look for hotels further north.
